My name is Stacey Hume, although you can call me Stace-Mo if you want to. And my life is humerous…. do ya get it? Hume? Humerous? Eh. Whatever. I am a 25 year old missionary originally from Florida. However, I will claim until my deathbed that I am a Tennessean (I mean, seriously… Florida is wretched hot and the armpit of the nation). I lived in Nashville for five years, and attended Belmont University to get my bachelor’s in business, which I am currently not using. I also have a half of a Master’s degree in Creative Writing, which I am using. Who knew? Sometimes quitting is a good thing.
I just got back from a trip called the World Race, plus another two month mission in South Africa. It was the most ridiculous, and difficult 2 years of my life. I learned to get dirty, and love well on four continents and across 13 distinct cultures. It changed my entire being, and made me who I am today. I cried more in this period of time than the rest of my life. But I laughed more, too.
On most normal days in America I am a photographer. Weddings here, graduations there, and the occasional rock concert. I love photography. It is my intense passion. I believe a photo is the only irrevocable thing we have. It is an unchanging memory. And I am quite sentimental about them, to be honest. You can see some of my work on this blog under the photographs tab at the top of the page.
I am currently living at home… With my parents! Yep. That’s right ladies and gents. Twenty Five. College Educated. Missionary. Sleeping in my old bedroom. Working on putting my life, and heart back together at the moment. And planning on moving back to Nashville, after I work to make some money to move.
And these are my stories. About Jesus in the everyday.
Fun Facts:
* I have a terrible memory : but it’s kind of nice because it means I’m just as excited about your story the eighth time around as I am the first.
* My favorite food is Honey. And I am aware that according to most people that’s not actually food.
* I have a love for all things tiny. Seriously – the smaller, the more awesome (that’s what she said).
* I am a Scrabble champion. Be prepared to lose, badly. Triple Word Score, WHAT NOW?!
